Awarded: 2003 True West Magazine “Best Cartridge Conversion Revolver Reproduction.” Historically, as percussion parts ran short in 1860, the 1851 Richards-Mason was changed from the earlier percussion model profile with octagon barrel to the 1871-72 Open Top sleek profile with round barrel and was renamed the 1860 Richards-Mason Conversion.
