Antique Medium Frame Colt Lightning Rifle in 38 Caliber***SOLD***

Description

Antique Colt Lightning 38WCF medium frame 26″ octagon barrel. The bore is dark and has pitting throughout with strong rifling. Shows signs of cleaning with what appears to be file marks on the receiver and some also on the barrel. The Rampant colt on the left side of the receiver is visable as are the markings on the top of the barrel. The top of the barrel is marked COLT’S PT.F.A. MFG.CO.HARTFORD.CT USA on the top line and just junder that it is marked +ELLIOT’S PATENTS MAY 29.1883.SEPT. 18.1893+ and just in front of the receiver is marked 38 Cal.
