Description
The Hawke Sidewinder 30 SF riflescope takes one of Hawke’s mostpopular scopes and boosts it by upgrading the previous model. The firstimprovement you’ll notice is the H5 optics system, which gives you a surprising24-degree wide field of view in addition to 4″ eye relief. The other upgradeyou’ll appreciate is a witness window for the elevation turret that lets you quicklysee your revolution setting. You can adjust both locking turrets, one for windageand one for elevation, in increments of 1/10 MRAD by as much as 26 MRAD, and theside focus knob gives you parallax free views from 10 yards to infinity.
The Sidewinder exceeds expectations in wind and bad weatherwith shockproof, fog proof, waterproof, nitrogen purged, fully-multicoated 18-layerlenses. You can turn on one of 6 levels of multi LED red illumination to seethe reticle better, and you’ll get a distinct picture even in low light. Thescope is built with low dispersion crown glass and has a 50mm objective lensand a 30mm aluminum tube, giving you views that usually cost a lot more. Finally,the scope is solidly made, so you can use it even on firearms or airguns withlots of recoil.
Hawke designed the SFP half mil reticle for windy and longrange shooting with features such as multiple windage aim points and easy rangecalculation. This reticle gives you accurate spacing on 10X magnification, withhalf MRAD markings in addition to .2 mil markings on the first and last MRADsections after the 6 mil mark. It also has crosses in a Christmas tree layout thatare .2 mil wide and high, spaced 1 mil apart on the bottom of the reticle. Theheight of the normal marks is: .2 mil for half mil marks, .5 mil for 1 milmarks, and 1 mil for 2 mil marks. Hawke also gives you a CR2032 battery for theLEDs, zoom lever, lens covers, 4″ sidewheel, 4″ sunshade, and a lenscloth.
