The Hawke Sidewinder 30 SF riflescope enhances one ofHawke’s best sellers by giving it two key upgrades. The most visible change isthe H5 optics system, which shows you an amazingly wide 24-degree field of view,plus 4″ of eye relief. Another much requested feature is the addition ofan elevation turret witness window, so you can easily see the number ofrevolutions on the knob. You can adjust both locking windage and elevationturrets in 1/10 MRAD clicks by up to 20 MRAD, plus you get parallax adjustmentthat’s good from 10 yards to infinity with the side focus knob.
The Sidewinder works better than expected in spite of poorweather and wind because it features fog proof, waterproof, shockproof,nitrogen purged, fully-multicoated 18-layer lenses. You can get a better viewof the reticle by activating the red multi LED lights on 6 differentintensities, giving you multiple illumination options for low light situations.In addition, the scope stands up well to recoil, meaning you can use it on arange of airguns or firearms. This scope gives you a sight picture typicallyreserved for much pricier scopes, uses low dispersion crown glass, and has a 30mmtube with a 56mm objective lens.
Hawke designed the SFP half mil reticle for windy and longrange shooting with features such as multiple windage aim points and easy rangecalculation. This reticle gives you accurate spacing on 20x magnification, withhalf MRAD markings in addition to .2 mil markings on the first and last MRADsections after the 6 mil mark. It also has crosses in a Christmas tree layout thatare .2 mil wide and high, spaced 1 mil apart on the bottom of the reticle. Theheight of the marks is: .2 mil for half mil marks, .5 mil for 1 mil marks, and1 mil for 2 mil marks. Hawke also gives you a CR2032 battery for the LEDs, zoomlever, lens covers, 4″ sidewheel, 4″ sunshade, and a lens cloth.
