Description
Trapdoor Springfield rifle 45-70. This originally started out as a rifle and has been sporterized. The forend has been shortened and a forend tip has been added, the cleaning rod hole has been neatly filled with matching wood patch. No cartouches are visible. The metal is all plum colored, the bore is in good shootable condition with scattered light pitting. The Buffington rear barrel sight is marked with an R and the breech block is marked U.S. Model 1873. A metal pistol grip is in place on the rear of the trigger guard. This is a chance to get a shooter trapdoor at a great price.
