Description

This cleaning rod tip with a 8-32 male thread is designed to accommodate a felt cleaning VFG wool pellet. One end is smooth spike followed by a threaded portion to hold the pellet on to the adapter. The felt cleaner is screwed onto the thread and is held fast on the adapter. By working the cleaning back and forth, this can be used to polish, oil, degrease or de-lead etc. the bore. At the end of the thread is a shoulder so that if the VFG wool pellet is screwed more tightly against this shoulder its diameter will be increased so that it fits more tightly in the bore. The increased pressure on the wall of the bore will lead to more force being required to run the cleaner through the barrel, however, it also leads to a greater cleaning or polishing effect depending on what you are trying to accomlish.
